Entrepreneur, Blogger Kai-Fu Lee Announces Cancer Diagnosis Online

Entrepreneur Kai-Fu Lee, a former Google China head, former Microsoft executive and one of China’s most popular bloggers, announced Friday he has been diagnosed with lymphatic cancer, generating messages of support and sympathy from his numerous online followers.

Confirming his diagnosis, Lee wrote, “"That does not sound very optimistic," he added. "This is life,” according to Fox News, which noted that Lee has more followers on Weibo than Spain has citizens – 51 million.

Taiwan-born Lee, who now supports start-ups in Beijing, is not known for his modesty. In 2009, Lee called himself “the single largest talent magnet in China”. In 2005, Microsoft sued Google for hiring Lee, saying that the search giant did so in violation of his employment contract’s non-competition clause, but failed to prevent him from joining them.

Lymphatic cancer, also known as lymphoma, has a survival rate of 59.9 percent or better, depending on the stage, treatment, and type of the cancer, according to WebMD.

I think cancer can happen to anyone. It's just because Kai Fu is famous and successful so that his personal life exposes to the public more than others with cancer. As what he himself said, everyone is equal when cancer comes.

Anyway, I like him. Hope that he can survive from the disease. Then, he'll have more to be spoken highly of.

After Steve Jobs, another unfortunate guy. Why does canncer always favour IT elites? Maybe they overuse their health to exchange for financial success or they have too many lucks in their careers so that there must be some miserableness in their personal life such as severe deseases, because god is of equity.
