Community Matters: Get Your Air Filters and Eco-Friendly Cosmetics at This Weekend's Sustainability Fair

High school students in Beijing have joined a global campaign to reduce litter. They launched the campaign last week with a play about environmental protection and classes on how to design trash and recycle bins, according to the China Daily. The "litter less" campaign involves 220 schools around the world, 55 of which are in China, and is supported by the International Foundation for Environmental Education and the Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company Foundation.

Be sure to give these kids a thumbs up and ask how you can help when you see their projects popping up around town over the year. You can also connect with them on their website. This is a small, but meaningful step towards reducing the 300 million metric tons of trash China produces annualy.

For more on living healthy and environmentally-friendly lives in Beijing, the Second Environment and Sustainability Fair will take place this Saturday on the second floor of the Hilton Beijing from 10am to 5pm. Exhibitors will be displaying a range of products, from air filters and organic produce to eco-friendly handicrafts and cosmetics. NGOs and charities will also be in attendance. The fair is family friendly.
