Little Movies in Big China: A Perspective-Shifting Look at Beijing

How do you take a big city and make a miniature film about, without using any scale models, sets or figurines? Simple: just shoot it.

Using tilt-shift, time-lapse photography, Joerg Daiber, CEO of Berlin-based production company spoonfilm, shot the footage during a three-week visit to Beijing in May. We didn't remember May being quite that beautiful, but Daiber certainly picked four good days.

Tilt-shift photography is a type of perspective control that uses selective focus to make normal scenes appear in miniature.

The Beijing videos are part of Daiber and spoonfilm's Little Big World series. Enjoy them: they make our big city look little but beautiful.
