One Great Leap for Mankind: Is GLB Expanding to Shuangjing?

We normally don't like to jump the gun, but there's craft beer and thirsty people on the line, so what the heck. We've heard that there very well may be one Great Leap for mankind ... and this time, it's in Shuangjing.

Residents of Sanlitun's southern neighbor may never have to hop on Line 10 again (pun intended) – that is, if the rumors are true. Beijing's craft beer stalwarts have yet to confirm our suspicions, but we'll keep you updated when we receive the information straight from the tap.

UPDATE (March 20): Looks like a rumor will have to stay a rumor for now – we've just received official word from Great Leap:

"We'd love to serve the great people of Shuangjing in the future, but we haven't made any concrete plans to expand to Shuangjing yet. We'll be sure to keep the readers of the Beijinger posted."

Yup. Shuangjing used to live next door, but they moved away cause their partner got a better job offer (better pay, better benefits, better schools). They're both still very close and so the kids have grown up calling Shuangjing their "neighbor" and nobody had the heart to point out that they were wrong.
