This Week: Taco Bar for Lunch, Bacon Cheeseburgers at GLB, and Napa's Amazing Eggs

If you love the Taco Bar as much as we do, you'll be delighted to hear that they are now open for lunch. You'll also be delighted to hear that their lunch set is seriously good value: RMB 50 gets you your choice of taco set, a soft drink (including horchata and hibiscus agua fresca on the day we went), and a daily dessert. I called in on the first day lunch launched and there were already a fair few tables in, so I imagine this will become a popular option with the Sanlitun office crowd.

Great Leap Brewing (who are, incidentally, one of the four remaining contestants in the Burger Cup, which you can vote in here) have teamed up with Kitchen Collective to offer a bacon cheeseburger. Initial reports on the burger, which features a single beef patty, bacon, cheese and smokey tomato mayo, is that it's a worthy addition to their already popular menu. You can catch Kitchen Collective at a few locations around town, including the Farm to Neighbors organic market that happens every Sunday at Modernista

Add Napa to your list of restaurants to watch out for in 2015. Aiming to open in the CBD area at the beginning of the year, they will serve Californian-style cuisine made with local, organic and seasonal ingredients. I got to try out some of their dishes over brunch this weekend and safe to say there aren't many restaurants in Beijing doing food that's as current as this. Follow them on Instagram @eatdrinknapa to stay up to date with what they're doing.

Finally, it looks like the space formerly occupied by Two Guys and A Pie has been taken over by a small ramen bar. We'll pop by and try it out soon, and let you know whether it's a worthy replacement.
