Mao's for Movember: Beijing Foodies November Charity Dinner at 京A Taproom

It's that time of the month again, when Beijing Foodies gives you an excuse to indulge for a cause. This month the charity dinner organizers are teaming up with 京A Taproom to raise money for maovember, an annual charity project organized in Beijing. maovember is a spin on Movember, the global campaign that sees men grow mustaches to raise awareness of and research funds for prostate cancer and other health issues. 

This year, maovember will support Orbis, an organization that is focused on preventing and treating blindness and known for its “flying hospitals“. maovember's initial goal was to raise at least RMB 20,000, but they have already easily blown past that figure, with the total so far standing at more than RMB 70,000 and the final goal now set at 80,000.

The dinner will go ahead this Sunday (November 30) night at 7.30pm at the 京A Taproom. Dinner costs just RMB 100, which gets you all of the below:


Starters To Share (Family Style):

House-made pickle pots
Rosemary sweet potato fries with aioli dip
Charcuterie boards with a selection of meats and cheeses, dried fruits and nuts, and spelt grain bread
Kale salad with apple, walnuts and house dressing
Mala popcorn chicken

Choose One Main (per person):

Andy's Craft Sausage sandwich (either bratwurst with sauerkraut or IPA Ghost Pepper with sauteed onion and peppers)
OR
Grilled Cheese Sandwich (with or without Traitor Zhou's craft bacon)

Beverage: 

Choice of Beer, Wine or Soda 


Those who've tried Andy's Craft Sausages before will know that these are pretty tasty beats, but if we were you, we'd be most excited to try that Mala popcorn chicken.
