Your Weekend Warning: These Events Have Edge

Here's our list of primo events to check out this weekend. It will be a doozy to say the least, with plenty of thrills, chills, and spills to keep you going back to that sticky bar top, in hope of making the night last forever.

Jan 22: Gulou Double Decker #1
Wild things get started this Thursday at that “unyielding black hole of regret,” also known as the Dada Temple. This nightlife and live music event, brought to you by Pangbianr and Live Beijing Music, will feature DJs, live music, and video fused together to build a sacrilegious two story monument that will definitely ruin you for the weekend (in a good way). If you enjoy being made unclean by the complexities DJs, abrasive rock and live electronics, then get over to this cesspool for some communal music appreciation. Fake Weed and Gate to Otherside will perform upstairs at Temple Bar, while Charm, Noise Arcade, Fratricide, Jerry Chan, and more downstairs with Jeff Yiu on live video duty.

Jan 23: Great Wall Music Festival Pre-party feat. NERVO
Check out these chart topping twins as they bring some EDM bangers to Live in Vac for the Great Wall Music Festival Pre-Party. We guess it’s never too early for a gig to warm us up for the biggest EDM bash of the summer. Nervo have had their hands in a bunch of noteworthy pop tunes and collaborated with the likes of Ke$ha, Afrojack, The Pussycat Dolls, and Avicii, also they aren't to bad on the eyes. The twins will be supported by local favorite DJ Half/N/Half.

Jan 24: Around the World: Switzerland
Set those Swiss watches to party time as the fifth installment of Around the World, hits Circle this Saturday. This time will feature 19-year-old wunderkind Stefan Lan, who will bring some mature for his age tunes, straight from the alpine lands made famous for utilitarian pocket knives, elegant fountain pens, and Nazi gold.

Jan 26: Australia Day
For all of you Aussies out there looking to celebrate your national heritage, head over to 8-Bit for some geeky hooliganism. Keeping with the standard traditions of the outback, they will have meat pies on offer from Two Guys and a Pie, Vegemite if you’re into that sort of thing, Victoria Bitter Beer, and Australia's beloved radio station, Triple J busting out their top 100 countdown. 8-Bit, Australian for retro video game fun.
