Flavour Promise Fusion doesn't even begin to describe the menu at this hidden-away restaurant in Maizidian, which effortlessly combines hints of Chinese, Japanese and western cuisines, producing dishes like Italian dandan noodles and belly pork braised in balsamic vinegar. Don't miss the katsu sandwich.

Fissler Academy Cafe This slick Italian cafe, owned by German cookware brand Fissler, is a perfect fit for high-end mall, Shin Kong Place. The menu revolves round delicious Neopolitan-style pizzas designed by award-winning pizzaiolo, Enzo Coccia.

Fiume The team behind perpetual favorite Mercante, bringing their brand of homestyle Italian food to a new space on the Liangma river. Many of Mercante's menu staples remain - handmade pasta, excellent antipasti - but the space has a more open, modern feel.

Tiago Home Kitchen Tiago brings a touch of authentic Italian to Jiuxianqiao's Indigo mall. Classic pastas and pizzas are executed with aplomb at accessible prices. Don't miss the pillow-y tiramisu.

10 Corso Como Another Shin Kong Place new opening, 10 Corso Como brings high-end Italian food to this corner of the CBD. Browse the clothes and objets d'art in the accompanying store, before settling down to a meal of veal Milanese and or tagliolini with Wagyu bolognese.

The Corner Melt The Corner Melt serves up a little slice of Americana in the Xingfucun neighborhood. Grilled cheese sandwiches are the name of the game here, which you can choose to take straight up in the 'Merica Melt or make extra carby with a mac and cheese filling. Look out for their "Melt Offs", where local chefs/personalities put their best grilled cheese to the test.

Palms L.A. Kitchen Inspired by the Korean-Mexican fusion trend coming out of LA, this petite Gulou restaurant serves up a menu of cross-cultural dishes like kalbi tacos and cheesy bibimbap. Do not leave without ordering at least one serving of the kimchi quesadilla.

Tribe Organic Tribe has been an instant hit with its eclectic and healthful food. Gluten free, dairy free and vegan diets are all catered for here with a menu that draws on influences from China, the Middle East, California, and more.

The Taco Bar Taco Bar has won the hearts of many in Beijing with its simple yet effective mix of tasty food, casual vibe and lots and lots (and lots) of Tequila. The lightly battered fish tacos and not-so-light chorizo queso are particular favorites, but you can't really go wrong with the menu here.

京A Taproom 京A have taken pub grub to the next level with a menu that makes the most of local producers like Andy's Craft Sausages. Stop in for a pint of one of their creative ales and order up some of their exemplary sweet potato fries. Their meat and cheese platter, featuring Yunnan goat's cheese among others, is also worth a try.
