Fly Cathay to Asia from Boston; Budapest-Beijing Flights Return; Visa-Free to Fiji

Boston definitely received a lot of attention in 2014, given Hainan Airlines' commencement of the first non-stop service between Beijing and that northeastern American city. Now, Cathay Pacific Airlines is showing it similar love. If you have relatives or friends in Boston who've wanted to visit, now may be the time. Purchase tickets by March 23, and travel between August 15 and October 15, and tickets could cost as little as USD 700 plus tax, roundtrip. That's a pretty good deal, and everyone knows autumn is the best time to visit Beijing anyway. More information here.

Anyone deeply inconvenienced when Air China stopped flying between Hungary's Budapest (remember, it's pronounced BudaPESHT) and Beijing, you're in luck. Starting May 1, China's national carrier will resume flying between the two cities (three cities, actually) four times per week. If that's where you're headed, well, this might be the flight for you.

Attention rugby fans and holiday makers: China and the island nation of Fiji are now offering visa-free travel to each other's countries. No visa is required for leisure trips of up to 30 days. Despite some domestic political trouble a few years back, Fiji is still known primarily as one of those blue-water-and-white-sand-beaches types of places. There are occasional charter flights from Shanghai; otherwise, connect out of Hong Kong.

One road flat safe.
