EAT: GLB Crawfish Boil and Other Eats for Dragon Boat Festival

This Saturday, June 20, is Dragon Boat Festival, and the corresponding day off on Monday, June 22, means a long weekend and plenty of opportunity for eating, drinking, and merriment.

On Saturday and Sunday, Great Leap Brewing is teaming up with Nola to hold an authentic Cajun-style crawfish boil on the patio at their new(ish) Great Leap Brewing #45 BrewPub. RMB 250 per person gets you all-you-can-eat Cajun crawfish and shrimp, chicken jambalaya, corn on the cob, potatoes, andouille sausage, kale cheddar salad, cornbread, and bread pudding, which for an additional RMB 100 you wash down with four beers. Spots are limited to 60 people per day, so make sure to nab your place at reservation@greatleapbrewing.com.

If you'd rather get out of town for the long weekend, the Schoolyard's restaurant Xiaolumian is a sure-fire bet for clean eats by the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall. They'll be serving up a Dragon Boat feast, including zongzi and other traditional delicacies.

In case you'd forgotten, it's also Father's Day this Sunday (Jun 21). Our pick of the many Father's Day events flying around town is the McLaren sponsored Bubbilicious Brunch at the Westin Beijing Chaoyang.  In addition to their usual buffet spread, there will also be a dozen McLarens parked outside, with a prize draw for a chance to win a test drive in a 650S.

See all listings for Father's Day events here.
