Burger Brief: The Garage's Classic Bacon with Cheese Burger

Burger Brief takes a look at some of the top seeds in the Beijinger 2015 Burger Cup. This time around, we talk to Clement Rol of The Garage to see what pushed their burger into the top 32 in the tournament seedings.

Name: Clement Rol
Nationality: French
How long you've been in Beijing: Four years
Venue: The Garage
Name of signature burger: The classic bacon with cheese

Tell us about your signature burger. What makes it the best burger in Beijing?
It's an American classic burger with toasted bread, good quality meat grilled juicy, and secret seasoning made special by me. I make my own mix of different herbs, pepper and salt.

What does the burger come with?
We serve our burgers with French fries, coleslaw, and garnish on the side (onion, tomato, iceberg lettuce and pickle).

What drink from your menu goes best with the burger?
For the food paring, a good drink would be a Slow Boat draft or an Amber Karl Strauss.

What other burgers do you have on the menu?
In total, we have 12 burgers at The Garage, which include a number of beef burgers as well as our V-Rod spicy chicken burger, our Sportster rice-and-beans veggie burger with avocado, and our Soft Tail white fish in beer batter burger with tartar sauce.

Aside from your own restaurant's burger, what was the best burger you’ve ever had?
For me the second best burger in Beijing is at Beer Mania. They have amazing homemade buns. And another favourite burger of mine in China is Jimmy's, located in Nanjing.

Shunyi Represent! The Garage is one of two Shunyi venues still alive in the tournament (Loft Eatalicious has a branch in Shunyi as well).

Love to see the underdogs do well ... Garage is the lowest-remaining Cinderella story, initially seeded 12th
