The IFC Will Get You Into the Festive Mood: 'Handel's Messiah' at Harrow International School, Dec 5

Beijing's very own International Festival Chorus is back with their annual rendition of Handel's Messiah on December 5 at Harrow International School in Shunyi. The performance starts at 7.30pm.

The oratorio written in 1741 by Georg Friederich Handel was first performed in Dublin in 1742, and in London the year after. For us Beijingers, it has been a fixture on Beijing's holiday calendar for over 10 years. This year, the IFC will perform is alongside their sister orchestra Peking Sinfoniette, as well as British guest bass soloist Jeremy Williams.

You'll recognize the Hallelujah Chorus from Messiah

Tickets are RMB 180 and RMB 280, and you can get them ahead of time on yoopay. There will be shuttle buses departing from the Kempinski hotel at 6.15pm sharp for those who do not live in Shunyi, the price of which is included in the ticket. The buses will also bring you back to the Kempinski hotel after the show at about 10pm, arriving at the hotel around 10.30pm.
