Beijing International Film Festival Tickets Go on Sale Midday, April 1

Tickets for the Beijing International Film Festival go on sale at noon on Friday, April 1 –  no April Fool's – and if pre-sales of premium ticket packages are anything to go by, you had better get in pretty quickly.

Over 1,000 sets of premium ticket packages for the festival were snapped up in seconds, Chinese media reported.

The festival, which will take place in 25 cinemas and five universities across the city, runs from April 16-23. You can find a list of the venues here.

If you’re game enough, you can pick which movies you’d like to see and then use either the the Gewara method outlined here or the the Weipiao method outlined here.

We checked in with English-language cinema booking site 247cinema again, and they said that they would be happy to help buy tickets for you. They will, however, charge a RMB 10 admin fee. Payment options include foreign credit cards, Paypal, WeChat, and Alipay, but not cash.

As tickets are likely to sell fast, they can’t guarantee that they will definitely be able to buy them for you, but they will attempt to make the purchase as soon as you get your order into them.

The full list of movies on offer is worth checking out. As we’ve pointed out before, it includes Steve Jobs: The Man in the Machine, The Lobster, the Alien Trilogy, The Big Short, and a 3D remake of Bernardo Bertolucci's The Last Emperor.

But there are many more! Including Black MassYouth, and classics like The Seven Year Itch. Check out the full line-up here.
