Andrew Dougherty to Perform 'Beijing State of Mind' at the American Ball Saturday, May 14
People in a Beijing state of mind will be in luck if they attend the 2016 American Ball on Saturday, May 14, which will feature a unique performance as part of the night's program.
Along with dinner, music, and dancing, Andrew Dougherty, who co-created the parody song and video "Beijing State of Mind" in 2013, will perform the song live. It's a local adaptation of Jay-Z song "Empire State of Mind" (not Billy Joel's "New York State of Mind.")
Every year, the American Ball brings together the foreign business community for an evening of fun and giving. The theme for this year's ball, on May 14, is Bright Lights, Big Cities.
This year’s ball is returning to the heart of the city, with the same appeal to the broad American community and with the same emphasis on contributing to the development of Chinese society. More than 400 guests are expected for a night of fun and philanthropy.
