Feige Vintage Fair Celebrates Concrete with 7-Day Park City Fest, Oct 1-7

Nature is overrated. That was apparently the mantra of whoever built Beijing, that faceless behemoth who killed almost every living thing in sight except for the bloody millipedes, earwigs, and shield cockroaches that keep crawling up my drain and keeping me company when showering for work.

Well, that's just what we got, so why not celebrate it and make the most of this concrete concentration camp we call home. That's the idea behind Feige Vintage Fair's newest outing Park City Fest (minus the concentration camp bit, those aren't sexy) – a seven-day urban festival taking place October 1-7, 1-8pm, out at Hi-Park Basketball "Theme Park" in Haidan.

The event will include a whopping 100 vintage stalls, fussball contests, darts contests, a three-day skateboarding contest (free entry into the park with a board), an American football tournament and free classes, and music throughout courtesy of Beijing crews Street Kids, the guys and gals at Migas, Club Paradise, Be Stupid, and Silk. There'll also be bands:

Oct 4
3-3.40pm Dan&Heike
5-5.40pm Elenore

Oct 5
3-3.40pm Paper Tigers
5-5:40pm Starcardigan

Oct 6

3-3.40pm Horse Feather
5-5.40pm Alex & Feeling band
6.30-7.10pm The Hotline

Oct 7
3-3.40pm The Guzzlers
5-5.40pm Free X Shop

Tickets for this revelry will cost RMB 80 per day advance (scan QR code below left), RMB 200 for the week advance, RMB 100 on the door per day, and RMB 220 on the door for the full hog.

All in all, sounds like a great option if you've got some time to spare this October holiday and just want to kick it with humanity's most somber of friends: Mr. Con Crete.
