Bad Santa: SantaCon 2016 Back in Town on Dec 10

One of the most boozy Christmas events of the year is back for the 22nd time this December 10: SantaCon!

SantaCon is the global non-denominational, non-religious and totally non-sensical celebration of all things Santa! If you've never heard of SantaCon, or want to learn more about the event’s history and other SantaCon events around the world, click here.

Basically, you've got to dress up festively in some way to join this secretive but allegedly inclusive bunch. The rest of the day is spent scaring Beijingers on the street (or confusing them), bar crawling, and collecting donations for charity. If you don't have anything that resembles a Santa outfit, or you can't be bothered to put something together like the gentleman below, you can buy a Santa costume, the proceeds for which go to charity.

The exact route that Santa, his elves, and all of the reindeer will follow is top secret, but last year's starting points were The Local (Sanlitun) and Sugar Shack (now Pyro Pizza, Wudaokou).

He’ll be making his list and checking it twice all the way up until the night before, so keep your eyes peeled on their social media platform for updates sent out by Santa and his helpful elves.
