Element Fresh and Li Na Boost Your Health With Superfoods for Winter

Teaming up with famous retired Chinese tennis player Li Na once again, Element Fresh has launched several special dishes and drinks for the beginning of winter.

Of the specials, we first tried the warm goat cheese and lamb salad (RMB 89). The slices of orange worked well with the savory lamb, and the earthy roasted beets and dried cranberries complemented the sweetness to goat cheese covered in panko bread crumbs. They also offer a Korean-style steak cobb salad (RMB 120), edamame and kale pesto (RMB 69), as well as several standout dishes, including a salmon and warm buckwheat salad, spicy barbecue chicken cobb salad, caldo verde, and rice pudding.

If those don't do the trick then there's also the ribeye and kimchi quesadilla (RMB 99), bursting with steak, cheese, kimchi, and house-pickled shallots, served with tofu cream and a dose of jalapeños. The crust was both crisp and chewy, and the steak and cheese combined well without making the whole thing too greasy.

If you're just going in for a quick drink then there are several liquid options to boost your energy, too. Try either the V+, a mixture with carrot, cucumber, celery, tomato, red bell pepper, and fresh lime; the Winterberry Blast, with cranberry juice, strawberries, blueberries, pomelo jam, and chia seeds; or the Strawberry Coconut Shake, with coconut milk, strawberries, bananas, honey, bee pollen chocolate, and chia seeds, which makes for quite dense combo.

We finished our meal with the rice pudding, which is made up of boiled jasmine rice in milk, vanilla cream, lines of caramel on top, and is seasoned with a dash of sea salt. Even so, it all came out a little too sweet for our liking.

Senior Marketing Manager Richard Huang said that upon tasting these new offerings, Li Na stated that they had “great taste, full flavors, and the nutrition I need – that’s what the Element Fresh menu delivers,” which seems a little wordy for a slogan.

We do know one thing for sure: Mondays are totally worth a visit to Element Fresh with two-for-one salads for anyone with a membership card (which you can get free of charge), which leaves the salads at a more affordable price.
