EAT: Dessert Pop-Up at Opposite House, Last Chance for Spoon Brunch at Migas, Cookie Monster Charity Bake-Off

Beijing's dessert lovers looking to try something new should head over to the Opposite House's Bei Space before this Friday (Mar 17) for the Chikalicious x K.H.Würtz pop-up. Comprised of a three-course dessert menu created by Chefs Mauro and Maya from New York dessert bar Chikalicious, and served on hand-thrown, hand-glazed crockery from K.H.Würtz, often stocked by New Nordic and gourmet restaurants around the world.

The meal costs RMB 198 per person, and is served from 1pm, and made even more special by the fact that you can watch the Chikalicious team create the desserts from scratch.

Migas wouldn't be caught dead having their brunch run for more than one season, and so as spring finally makes its way to our city, they're getting rid of their Spoon Brunch (this weekend is the last weekend to get it), and starting up the La Feria brunch on Saturday, March 25. The brunch is named after one of the most popular regional Spanish festivals, which celebrates the arrival of the warm season.

The menu will include a fresh station, full of salads, cold soups, and other cold dishes, a Montadito bar, allowing you to construct your own combination of bread topped off with different ingredients like Spanish ham and Manchego cheese, as well as tapas, paella (obviously), a fried fish platter, and a dessert trolley.

The newest brunch will set you back RMB 268 per person, and free-flow comes in at an additional RMB 148 for two hours which includes sangria, house wines, beer, soft drinks, as well as coffee and tea. We'll be sure to head over and review it as soon as it is up and running.

And finally, a reminder that this Sunday the Cookie Monster Charity Bake-Off takes place at The Hutong, where, for RMB 150 you get revel in sugary glee with 20 cookie samples to gobble down before voting for the best one, all for charity.
