Friday, Jul 26

Scare The Children, Thin City, White Papers, Tui Xia at Temple 
Temple Bar, ground zero for down and dirty fun whose ramshackle rock 'n' roll charm celebrate a staggering eight years on the scene with a weekend feast of rock and roll with some of the venue’s finest purveyors: costumed horror metal renegades Scare the Children join post-punk outfit White Papers, as well as up-and-coming noise-rockers Tui Xia and visiting Shenzhen art-rock ruffians Thin City. Dreaming Julie, Jajatao, Auburn at DDC 
Promoters VIBES kick off the DDC’s weekend festivities for their five year anniversary with a special showcase featuring some of the scene’s most distinct acts – including free jazz experimental supergroup Dreaming Julie, made up of renowned experimental and jazz figures Feng Hao, Liu Ping, and Yang Tao who blend traditional instrumental with postmodern sounds. Howie Lee, Sulumi, Jason Hou, Veeky, Cain at School 
School Version 1.0 – Gulou’s original underground electronic club returns for one evening only! Paying their respects to their birthplace is the flagship Do Hits label who have since gone on to gain fame across not only China but the globe - Howie Lee has accolades galore, Sulumi is back from Japan for the evening, Do Hits veterans Jason Hou and Veeky are along for the ride, and many other special guests sure to join as well. Rockfirst – the latest mainstream-lining rock and roll label and promotion team celebrate a fruitful first year with a blowout party featuring some of the platforms newest catches including Malaysian hard rock outfit Alienoid, Xinjiang raised singer-songwriter Jurat, pop singer Ma Ke and more. Ariyo-C Chicago Blues Piano Trio at Blue Note
Sumito Ariyoshi, aka Ariyo, is internationally recognized for his vigorous innovative piano style. He’s an accomplished arranger and sought after studio musician. He's shared the stage and toured the world with such legends as Otis Rush, Jimmy Rogers, Eddie Shaw, B.B.King, and Stevie Ray Vaughan. RMB 200-280

Sons of Thunder at Modernista

Shanghai Qiutian, Thin City, Pizza Face, Stranding Imbrium at DDC
Live Beijing Music helps DDC celebrate their 5th Year Anniversary with a sizzling riotous showcase featuring some of the scene’s most exciting new bands, including Shanghai-based math rock indie outfit Shanghai Qiutian and Shenzhen art-punk scrappers Thin City – two bands who exploded onto the scene this year with wonderfully realized debuts on Wild Records and Boring Productions. Joining them will be two new Beijing contenders to be reckoned with – instrumental rockers Stranding Imbrium, who are building up quite the rapport with the scene, and red hot garage punk ruffians Pizza Face whose live performances are truly something to behold. Wasted Laika, White Papers, Qiaochuan Pharmacy at School
Riding a wave of newfound street cred, Wasted Laika has shot up the ranks of the Beijing underground rock scene over the past two years. With their art-punk post-punk brand of flair and showmanship, they're carrying the rock 'n' roll torch into the future.
