Dragon Boat Festival is coming up, and for those of you who weren’t aware yet, Monday, Jun 14 is a public holiday which either means no work (or getting paid double). But it’s been a while since there was actual dragon boat racing to commemorate the holiday the way it used to, but the tradition of giving delicious zongzi as gifts (and buying them for yourself) has never gone out of style.

Zongzi has been a part of Chinese history for over 2,000 years. They’re made of glutinous rice with different types of fillings and wrapped in bamboo leaves, and they’re sold all year round, but around Dragon Boat Festival time, you’ll be able to find them all over the city – from street vendors to luxury 5-star hotels.
