EAT: Barbecue brunch, Brotzeit 15th Anniversary, Forno Pizza Deal

EAT: Your bite-sized guide to the best eats to be had in Beijing this week.

Let's "meat" summer barbecue brunch at Signature's

Make the most of summer with a meat-heavy barbecue-themed brunch on the terrace at Signature's at the Kempinski Hotel Beijing Lufthansa Center. The brunch selection not only features grilled meats and other summer favorites like ice cream, but also German sausages from  Paulaner Brauhaus and a broad selection of cold cuts and cheeses. Priced at RMB 438 per person (when purchased via Kempinski's WeChat shop), the brunch also includes free-flow red and white wine and German beer. Even better, this is a Saturday brunch so if you choose the all-you-can-drink option, you still have a day of the weekend to recover before work on Monday morning.

Monday night pizza deal at Forno

Enjoy Forno's crispy, Roma-style pizza slices for half price every Monday with the purchase of any drink. The pizza dough is fermented for two days and then cooked in mental pans in a 300-degree electric oven to give it a bubbly texture on top and crisp bottom. We love the estate pizza with Parma ham, buffalo mozzarella, and arugula.

Brotzeit's 15-year anniversary deal

German restaurant Brotzeit is marking 15 years of bringing diners in Asia an authentic ‘Gemütlich’ (feel-good) dining experience, starting from 18 June. Celebrate with their anniversary combo, featuring their signature pork knuckle, dried beer sausage, and two half-pints of German beer for just RMB 288 (usually more than RMB 400).

El Mercadito now open for lunch

El Mercadito — the latest project from Pebbles Courtyard's Ray Heng, located in Meeting Mart in Shunyi — is now open for lunch service. El Mercadito serves a simple menu featuring a series of taco fillings such as carnitas, grilled chicken with adobo marinade, or grilled flank steak available by weight and paired with tortillas and sides. Catch them open from noon-2pm and 5-9pm from Tuesday to Sunday.
