If you’re bored in Beijing, it’s because you want to be. No, but really. At least I struggle to keep up with the weekly leisure agenda. Talk about FOMO!

Case in point: Christmas Day. Looking for some true fanciness? Moonglow Entertainment has got you covered. Run, don’t walk, to book your seat for their very special Christmas show: Winter Follies, Dec 25 at the exclusive Honghua International Golf Club. You better get all dolled up to meet the dress code though: evening wear and black tie. What will your ticket get you? A welcome glass of champagne to set you in the mood, a select Christmas turkey dinner with all the accoutrements, and…entertainment, lots of entertainment.

Oh, boy, what entertainment it will be. Winter Follies is touted as an immersive dinner experience with good reason. Diners will compete in a contest for the best looks of the soirée before being regaled with a whopping total of three performance sets featuring music and dance. The lovely soprano Johanna Maylin, who specializes in Western classical vocal music, will delight the audience with an exquisite repertoire ranging from classical to modern jazz and musical theatre. Oh, and she will not grace the stage alone — you may also look forward to a full-fledged revue from the ever enchanting Moonglow cast of beautiful showgirls!

Merry Christmas, Trixie! How would you define Winter Follies?
Winter Follies is a full-scale stage production featuring gorgeous original costumes for a wintery Christmas theme, vivid characters, singing, dancing and —this is crucial— audience participation.

Oh, wow. Give us some details without spoiling the fun!
So, the dress code alone! We want you to look great for our Christmas photobooth. There, you may either take your own pics or have our professional photographers snap some fancy photos while you meet and greet with Johanna herself, champagne in hand. Then, of course, the costume contest, with some exciting prizes. Turkey will be carved on the spot for a gourmet Christmas dinner with free flow wine or soft drinks, to keep the conversation bubbling. The dance section of the show will be always set in a way such that the audience may take pictures with the showgirls and overall fully enjoy the revue. Last but not least, by the end of the night we will have a group photo. It’s all about having a fun, memorable Christmassy evening all together.

Moonglow Entertainment is truly an institution of sorts in Beijing with your fun, sexy burlesque vibes. Just in case there’s some newbie reading us, though, what is burlesque?
