Check Out The Best Five “New” Burgers in The 2022 Juicy Burger Cup

It can be pretty tough for new or lesser-known burger restaurants to compete in our Burger Cup when they’re battling against big names like Slow Boat or Q Mex. That’s why we want to shine a spotlight on the best five new burgers that ranked in this year’s Juicy Burger Cup.

Now, some of these burger spots might not be completely “new” to the capital, but they were new in this year's Cup. So instead we’re specifically looking at places that are “new” to our master list of the 100 Best Burgers in Beijing.

No. 5, Take A Bite

Coming in at number five we have Take A Bite, aka TAB, which ranked 27th overall in the 2022 Juicy Burger Cup. Located in 798 Art Districts, TAB first appeared on our radar back in April this year. They have a range of more unusual burger offerings like their Sponge Bob Pineapple House (RMB 49), which sees a slice of buttered pineapple added to one of their tasty homemade beef patties. Or for spice lovers there is the Burning In Hell (RMB 56) burger topped with their own "suicide chili sauce", Sichuan style mayo and jalapenos. All of their burgers come with fries and chicken nuggets making these some of the best value burgers in town.

No. 4, Brotzeit German Bier Restaurant

Bringing an alternative to a traditional burger, German restaurant Brotzeit made a name for itself this year with its Juicy Knuckle Burger (RMB 78). Here a beef patty is switched out for a 24-hour slow cooked pork knuckle with secret German seasoning all sandwiched between two buns. They also have Angus Beef Cheese Mini Hamburgers (RMB 68) too if you’re hankering for a more classic burger.

No. 3, COMMUNE•X

Earlier this year COMMUNE•X had a complete revamp of their design and menu, adding some delicious new burger options. The star of the show has to be the CLASSIC BACON CHEESEBURGER (RMB 78) which features a 170g fresh ground Wagyu beef patty topped with yellow cheddar, deep fried onions, miso-maple bacon, and Dijon mustard mayo dressing on a brioche bun.  Another great option is their take on a 1950s Juicy Lucy Burger, the Bleucy Lucy (RMB 98) that sees a 170g Wagyu beef patty stuffed with gorgonzola blue cheese, topped with Dijon mustard, arugula and red onion jam.

No. 2, Malbec and Beef

Usually known for their top-quality Argentine beef and wine, Malbec and Beef have dipped their toes into the burger pool this year. They have a classic burger option in the form of their Beef Cheeseburger (RMB 108) or if you want to mix things up the Choripan (RMB 98) which is the most popular sandwich in Argentina. The Choripan features chorizo sausage topped with veggies and Chimichurri sauce on Argentine style bread. Both the Beef Cheeseburger and Choripan come with a side of crispy potato wedges.

No. 1, Wild Kite Brewing

This year’s Burger Cup dark horse Wild Kite made it all the way into the Elite 8, which is no mean feat for a new competitor. If you’re looking for a top-notch classic burger you can’t do much better than the Wild Kite Classic Wagyu Burger (RMB 68). Featuring an Australian Wagyu beef patty topped with caramelized onion, burger sauce, cheddar cheese, onion rings, and jalapeño, it’s everything a good burger should be. If you’re looking for some beef alternatives they also do the Grilled Chicken Deluxe (RMB 58) or the more unusual Deepsea Butterflyfish Burger (RMB 98).
