Summer Sizzlers: Union Bar & Grille Unveils New Dishes

The folks at Americana emporium Union Bar & Grille have cut the ribbon on their new summer menu. A clutch of hungry hacks were assembled for the occasion, not least for the chance to sample the new offerings, which included Napa-style Garlic Fries – crispy shoestring fries coated in garlic, melted Parmesan cheese and basil.

Major news of note was the announcement that UB&G(e) intends to become, in part, a Chop House. What changes this trendy moniker should entail are vague at best; Chop Houses were 16th century London establishments where businessmen would dine on large plates of meat and beer. Hmm, sounds familiar. Suffice to say, “on the bone” will likely become a more oft-read menu description.

With the presentations done, we tucked into rounds of sticky buffalo wings, lamb ‘lollipops’, and UB&G(e) cheeseburgers… in miniature. What’s most pleasing about these pint-sized patties is they’re so dinky, not to mention cut in half, that you really don’t feel guilty getting stuck into them. So I had seven.

Try the blue cheese burger. It's awesome. And so are the fries ... if they've previously been frozen they sure don't taste like it

Thanks for the comments, guys. One thing, though, is that Union Bar and Grille is not an advertiser of our website or magazine - the post is the opinion of the author.

Yeah. Frozen fries. Chain restaurant. Inaccessible. Service charge. Utter lack of personality.
Don't advertise on the forum guys.

Can a restaurant review ever be written without the phrase "tucked into" in it?
