Calling all Playwrights!

The 3rd Annual Beijing International New Short Play Festival (BINSPF) will be kicking off in January, and the organizers are looking for new works to feature. So if you have a script sitting in your drawer, or even an idea you’ve been kicking around, NOW is time to give them a pitch – the deadline is today.

BINSPF 2011 will take place at the Penghao Theater at the beginning of 2011, and according to the organizers will comprise, “New plays and musicals featuring Beijing expats and local actors, directors, and writers.”

The event organizers are particularly keen on productions featuring a "small and diverse cast," as well as plays featuring "women in Beijing."

As well as scripts and ideas, organizers are also seeking experienced and new directors who want to hone their skills. Actors will be sought once the lineup of productions is finalized.

Awards will handed out during the event in various categories such as Best Play and Best Director.
