The Beijinger Beer Festival 2011: Introducing the Beers - Part 4

Tickets are now on sale for the Beijinger Beer Festival, which takes place at Villa Castanea on Saturday, July 23. There will be 34 beers there for the sampling, thanks to local producers and suppliers Great Leap Brewery, Heineken, Vandergeeten, DXcel and Villa Castanea. Beer lovers will also be pleased to hear that there will be talks, including one from Carl at Great Leap on brewing your own beer.

To make a day of it we’ve also signed up local bands and DJs to play for you all day – Patrick Yu, Usami, Nassdak and Bitesize Buddha will man the decks while Ajinai and the Randy Abel Stable take to the stage. You've heard from the performers here and here but now it’s the final time to focus on the most important aspect of the day, the beer:

Mystery Beer(China) ABV ?.?% – Great Leap Brewery tent
“We'll all have to wait and see what Carl has up his sleeve on Saturday”

Rogue Dead Guy Ale (USA) ABV 6.5% – DXcel tent
“Rogue have deservedly made a name for themselves in the craft brew community – this is strong enough to make rogues of the best of them”

Kasteel (Belgium) ABV 8.0% – Vandergeeten tent
“Don't be fooled by this beer's cherry flavour. It packs one hell of wallop”

St. Feuillien (Belgium) ABV 7.5% – Vandergeeten tent
“Another whopper Belgian beer, but this one's blonde and bubbly”

Brooklyn East India Pale Ale (USA) ABV 6.9% – DXcel tent
“A poppy, fizzy pale ale with a twist of lemongrass that makes this a summer crowd-pleaser”

St. Louis Kriek (Belgian) ABV 3.2% – Vandergeeten tent
“Cherry. Very cherry, in fact. They might even bring their girls along”

Moosehead (Canada) ABV 5.0% – DXcel tent
“Canada's sole entry into the beer festival is as pleasant and popular as its home country”

Villa Castanea will also be offering their own home brew – white, dark and pilsner – at the event. We're as excited to try these out as the rest of you.

Want to get in on the action? Tickets are RMB 100, which includes five free beer samples, transport to and from the festival, and other goodies.

Tickets are available now at The Irish Volunteer, The Green Cap, Pomme O'Shea's, Paddy O'Shea's, The Stumble Inn, Great Leap Brewery, Grinders and Lush while stocks last.
