2012 Feb 12 Revealed: Where to Buy Valentine's Day Lingerie Part 2

Perhaps you’ve already checked out some of our brick-and-mortar options recommended in our earlier post and are still not satisfied. (Either that or you have yet to leave your house. We don’t blame you. It sure is cold out there.) In any case, here is a way to shop for naughty lingerie from the comfort of your own home. But hurry – you’re running out of time! Some of these places do offer overnight shipping; otherwise, consider these a belated Valentine’s Day gift.

ASOS The UK’s largest online-only store provides a varied selection of lingerie, from low-end (their own ASOS in-house line) to mid- and high-end (Elle MacPherson Intimates, Stella Mc Cartney, 6ixty 8ight). Standard international shipping (6-12 days) is free; express shipping (4-7 days) will set you back RMB 170-200.
Forever 21 We’re still waiting on the opening of the first Beijing branch, but their e-commerce site has already launched. As expected there are sound deals on every type of clothing, including their neiyi. Shipping is free when you spend over RMB 200.

Luxbible This Beijing-based online luxury boutique with guaranteed overnight shopping offers a few chic satin picks by La Fée Verte. Slinky slips start from around RMB 1,000.

Net-a-Porter If you don’t mind splurging, go to Net-a-Porter for top-of-the-line bras, corsets and garter belts. This luxury fashion site stocks all the finest brands including Agent Provocateur, La Perla and Kiki de Montparnasse. 2-3 day shipping costs RMB 200 + tax.

Shopbop One of our favorite multi-brand online shops, Shopbop carries many of the latest designs by hard-to-find designers such as Hanky Panky, Eberjey and Honeydew Intimates. If you spend over RMB 630 you get free shipping, too.

Taobao Of course, your safest option – that is, if you want your naughty goods to arrive on time – is China’s biggest e-commerce platform. Simply type in the brand you’re searching for (we notice Agent Provoacateur and 6ixty 8ight are quite prevalent) and you’ll find a vast array of options. Click here and here if you need help navigating the Chinese-only website.

Shanzhai Victoria’s Secret Show at Chengdu University

A student-organized runway show at Chengdu University of Technology drew vicious mockery (and appreciation) from netizens for its close resemblance to the world-famous Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, from the lingerie designs to the way the models sashayed down the catwalk. Free Scarves for Expats at D.I.S

Most emerging local brands target the increasingly influential Chinese consumer, not us humble expats. And when they do come after us, they tend to meet with limited success. Not the case with Dutch Items Shanghai, a Shanghai-based boutique designed by and for expat women. D.I.S opened its first shop in 2007, but already has four branches and counting – the latest of which is in Hong Kong. None in Beijing yet, but thanks to their recently launched web shop, Beijingers now have ready access to their high-quality clothing and accessories as well.
