2013 Restaurant Week: New Restaurants, New RMB 99 Category

We told you last week in our dining news roundup that this year’s Restaurant Week is set to take place on March 4-10. If you’ve taken part in the deals before, you’ll know this is a great time to try out restaurants you’ve been curious about, for a fraction of the cost. Here, we have the latest info on which restaurants will be joining up this year, as well as an enticing new RMB 99 dinner category.

As with prior Restaurant Weeks organized by Dining City, this edition will still include the two main categories. Category A restaurants will offer lunch sets at RMB 118 and dinner sets at RMB 248, while Category B restaurants will do lunch for RMB 78 and dinner for RMB 168. The new Category C will offer dinner sets at RMB 99, which will be an absolute steal for some of these restaurants. Dining City haven't released which restaurants will belong to which category, but stay tuned and we'll get you that info as soon as it's available.

The organizers have also done a good job lining up some of the year's newest restaurants, including:

  • Temple Restaurant Beijing (TRB)
  • Wang Jia Sha
  • Greyhound
  • Eatalia
  • Mesa (of Mesa & Manifesto)
  • Che Diego
  • Lost Heaven

We had a chance to try the Restaurant Week lunch menu at TRB, which will be an excellent deal even if they're Category A (which, in our humble opinion, they likely will be). Their lineup starts with your choice of a lentil soup, beef consommé or duck liver terrine. Then you can choose between slow-poached sea bass, roast pigeon or chicken coq au vin for the main and end with a basil cake roll, chocolate dacquoise or a cheese selection.

Here are the other participating restaurants so far:

  • The Red Chamber, China World Summit Wing
  • Daccapo, The Regent
  • La Pizza (Sanlitun location)
