Capital Bites: Comptoirs Delivers and More Bits

Mother's Day has passed, but breakfast in bed is never a bad idea. Comptoirs de France has launched an online ordering platform. Cakes, pastries, salads and sandwiches, as well as fuller breakfasts and lunches will be delivered from the nearest branch of the bakery. Delivery is free within a 2km radius from the shop, and all charges will be viewable on the webpage upon checkout.

Asian French fusion restaurant Xiaoju Courtyard has their grand opening this Friday from 7-9pm. The space on 40 Xiaoju Hutong off Dongzhimennan Xiaojie looks to be quite elegant, and we're interested to see the outcome of a meeting between Asian and French cuisines. They've already soft opened a sister venue, Xiaoju Bar, on Mao'er Hutong which shares a space with Irresistible Cafe. Find Xiaoju on Weibo or on Weixin (public account: xiaojubeijing).

If you're in the mood for greens, a new menu is out at Element Fresh with salad options like

"spring lamb in a wild garden salad" (RMB 98) and a teriyaki chicken salad (RMB 68).

For something a little more substantial (i.e. carbs), over near Chaoyang Park, Gang Gang Delicatessen has a new array of sandwiches including a Niçoise on a croissant and a vegetarian option on whole wheat bread.

Fullricebowl, thanks very much for catching that and pointing it out. Some information was mixed up in transit. I've corrected the text above.

You are right, Irresistible Cafe (not "Impossible," although I like that as a cafe concept) is still there at 14 Mao'er Hutong. Xiaoju Bar has been in soft opening for a period now and is sharing the space with the cafe. What is newer is Xiaoju Courtyard (same ownership, nearly the same name) near Dongzhimen which is much more of a full-fledged restaurant. They will be having their grand opening party this Friday.

Impossible Cafe = Irresistible Cafe? The wine bar at Xiaoju Courtyard has been there for some time- are they actually taking over the rest of the space? It seemed they had been sharing the courtyard.
