Champions League Final: Where Will You Lay Your Towel?

The Germans are invading London this weekend. Settle down, it's to be a short-lived and very localized coup d'état for the final of the UEFA Champions League on Saturday (May 25) when Bundesliga champions and four-time Champions League winners Bayern Munich take on Bundesliga runners-up and 1997 champions Borussia Dortmund at Wembley Stadium.

Should be a cracker of a game, though. And well worth staying up past the witching hour for (the game kicks off at 2.45am on Saturday night/Sunday morning). The two teams met in a very fiery 1-1 draw back on May 5 as a little warm-up for the main event.

Have you figured out where you're going to watch it yet? Any place calling themselves a sports bar will definitely be showing it, but here's a list of places we know to be and any promotions they're going to lay on for the night.

We'll be updating this list as we find out about more venues showing the game, but do tell us where you'll be watching it in the comments below.

Black Sun Bar
The Chaoyang park favorite will have the game on five TVs and its big screen so you're sure to find a good perch somewhere. They'll be going "German beer crazy" offering giveaways and a late night happy hour from 2am onwards.

Cu Ju
An oustanding nominee in the field of the city's Best Sports Bar last Saturday, of course the Xiguan Hutong hangout will have the game on. They'll have specials on Warsteiner beer all night and will be offering free rum to the winner of their final score prediction contest.

Centro
Kerry Hotel's bar will be doing special food and drink promotions between midnight and 6am.

Drei Kronen 1308
Where better to catch a Champions League Final contested by two fierce German rivals than in an authentic German brauhaus? There might not be a better place to catch the match than the gargantuan Gongti ale house. They're anticipating a big turn out, mind, and you'll need to email them here to make a reservation.

Brussels Bar and Restaurant
The Editor's Pick for Best Sports Bar at this year's Reader Bar & Club Awards will also be showing the game. They'll have it on all screens including their sizable projector. They'll also be offering RMB 15 Tsingtao throughout the game and will even have a limited food menu available.

The Stumble Inn
The Village – sorry, Taikoo Li – spot is hosting the official Heineken viewing party this year. That means "fun, food and football" from 10pm onwards. You'll need to call (6417 7794) to reserve a pew for the festivities.

Paddy O'Shea's
Of course your "Best Sports Bar" will be showing the showpiece event of the football season. They're expecting a busy night over there so it's going to be strictly first-come, first-served – get in early to ensure a pew. Expect the usual repertoire of Paddy's football sing-alongs (with a bit of Hasselhoff thrown in for good measure) as well as two-for-one on shots of Jagermesiter, and a free beer for anyone wearing lederhosen.
