Great Leap Brewing Offers First Look at Hutong Renovation

Great Leap Brewing gave us a peek at the renovations of their original Doujiao Hutong location.

Via photos posted to Great Leap's Facebook page, we see a long, wood bar going in, similar to that in their Xinzhong Jie location. Closed earlier this month, the newly-refurbished venue will re-open on Tuesday, December 24, proprietor Carl Setzer told the Beijinger.

One thing that won't change after the renovation: the Doujiao Hutong location will remain a drinking-only experience, with victuals still available via area restaurant delivery and local chuan'r guys.

For those who can't wait for their dose of hutong hipness, Great Leap celebrates its 100th batch at their Xinzhong Jie location on Monday, December 23, with RMB 25 drink specials on selected beers, and a free growler of their Pale Ale #6 for anyone buying another growler.
