Talking Tunes: Bruno Mars Tickets Now Available Through Damai

The news has spread across the land! As we have previously suspected, Bruno Mars will be performing in Beijing, and there is finally a listing on his website for the Asia leg of his Moonshine Jungle Tour. They are probably still waiting to get their passports approved from the visa agency, and as we have all learned from Beijing's cultural climate, anything is possible. With that said, we will be keeping our fingers crossed.

In the meantime, Bruno Mars tickets for the Beijing show on April 5 are now available for purchase through Damai.cn, and through Smart Beijing next week. If his superstar status isn't enough of an incentive to check him out, grab those tickets quick for they will most definitely sell out, and nobody wants to be left in the cold when pop history is being made.

Also, this Friday make sure to get over to Yugong Yishan for the Carsick Cars album release show. Their new album 3 still has their signature wall of noise approach that Beijing's music elite are so found of, but it also shows off their softer and more elegant side for those who just recently began their foray into the local underground music scene. The show's lineup will be supported by my absolute favorite Beijing band, Chui Wan. If you haven't heard them yet, do yourself a favor and get to this gig. Imagine weird 80's Brit pop like Felt or Orange Juice, but very meandering and psychedelic. Look for a interview with frontman Zhang Shouwang published later today.
