EAT: Brains ... or, Halloween Food Options

For the curmudgeonly among us, it seems it's getting pretty hard to avoid Halloween in Beijing these days. However, the slew of events around town does mean that there really is something for everyone. If you're more inclined to eat than party, read on for our list of the best Halloween-related food events around town this week.

Aroma Halloween Dinner
Looking for an exciting "trick or treat" moment? Find it at Aroma with their trick or treat-themed buffet packed with Halloween surprises. RMB 386, RMB 198 (children aged 6-12 years). 6-10pm. Aroma.

Discover Your Halloween
This Halloween, discover mysterious fun at Renaissance Beijing Capital Hotel. Dress up and take part in their gruesomely grand carnival, with a live band, lucky draws, and a themed dinner buffet. RMB 398. 5.30-10pm. BLD Cafe.

Fun and Yummy Halloween at Kempinski
Fun activities abound across the Kempinski, including spooky sharing platters at Paulaner Brauhaus, an Autumn-themed menu at Via Roma, and a Halloween dessert buffet at Kranzlers. 5.30-10.30pm. Kempinski Hotel Beijing Lufthansa Center.

Halloween Afternoon Tea
The pastry chefs at Chapter have cooked up a range of terrifying treats to delight the taste buds this Halloween. RMB 110. 1-5pm. Chapter.

Halloween Cookies Workshop
Learn how to make your own freaky Halloween cookies at Sweet and Sweeties' baking workshop. Come in costume for extra surprises. RMB 150. 3-5pm.

Halloween Set Menu at La Pizza
Head over to La Pizza on Friday night for a spooky set menu. You'll be welcomed with a "bloody spritz", before indulging in some witches fingers and ghost spiders (and a less unusual main course of rib eye steak or pumpkin pizza). RMB 198. 11am-11pm. La Pizza.

Migas Halloween Desserts
For the week leading up to Halloween, Migas' master pastry chef Pol Anter has created a trio of spooky desserts, including a sweeter-than-average jack o'lantern (see pictures above) and an autumn-inspired dessert inside a cobweb. RMB 58. Noon-10.30pm. Migas.

Scary and Elegant Four Course Dinner at The Summit Club
Keep it classy for Halloween with dinner at The Summit Club. The menu includes a "bloody platter" (chicken pate), "witchy soup" (cream of spinach), seared beef tenderloin, and baked Alaska. RMB 788 per couple. 8-10pm. The Summit Club.

Vai Milano Halloween Trick or Treat
Visit one of Vai Milano's four stores in costume this Friday and get 20 percent off all gelato. Or play their Halloween costume game: submit your costume pictures to their WeChat (vai_milano) before November 9 to be in with a chance of winning vouchers. 10am-10pm. Vai Milano.
