Our Favorite Happy Hours for Outdoor Imbibing

After a long day at the office on a hot summer's day, there is nothing better than escaping just that little bit early to catch the last hour of happy hour, particularly if there's a terrace involved. Below are a few of our top picks.

Home Plate Bar-B-Que
Winner of Best Happy Hour in the Beijinger 2015 Reader Bar and Club Awards, Home Plate offers a range of discounts across cocktails, wines, beers, and mixed drinks and best of all is available every day from 11am-7pm. Their outside terrace is small but perfectly formed, although watch out for the mosquitoes.

Fez
Located on the fifth floor of Nali Patio, with it's newly refurbished seating and smooth music, Fez is a contender for Migas' crown as best rooftop bar in Sanlitun. Fez's weekday happy hour, 6-8pm, features buy-one-get-one-free on their tasty summer cocktails. Every Monday, they introduce a new speciality cocktail at just RMB 40 all night.

Centro
Centro's happy hour is one of the longest running in the city. Available every day, 5-8pm, it covers almost all of their menu, including bottled and draft beers, wines by the glass, and cocktails. The street-level terrace on the front of the hotel is unsurprisingly popular with the CBD crowd and thus has a very Sex and the City vibe.

XIAN
Get a taste of Italian summer at XIAN's new aperitivo, available every day, 5-8pm. Sip classic aperitivo cocktails, such as Pimms or Campari, on the terrace, while taking your pick from a selection of bruschetta, charcuterie, and dips.

Chill
The courtyard at Chill Bar is one of our favorite places to, well, chill, particularly on Sunday afternoons, when you can put down a mere RMB 50 for free-flow Tsingtao and mixed drinks between 3pm and 6pm.

Taco Bar
Enjoy Taco Bar's new terrace: any weekday between 5.30 and 7pm, order any alcoholic drink and you get a taco for free. No better way to celebrate the end of another work day!
