Mobb Deep to Play Yugong Yishan on Saturday, Sep 12

While we were no doubt upset about the cancellation of Afrika Bambaataa a couple weeks ago, as Beijingers we are very accustomed to these sorts of snafus. This being said, here’s a little treat for you music lovers out there: next Saturday (Sep 12), House of Vans and Yugong Yishan will be hosting a little gig from New York hip-hop legends Mobb Deep.

Their latest recording The Infamous Mobb Deep is a collection of new songs and unreleased material from the archives, and marks over 20 years they’ve spent as a unit, bringing their wildly dark hip-hop to the world.

These guys are right up there with Nas and Biggie in terms of their influence over the genre, so it should be a great concert for aficionados of early hardcore hip-hop to check out. That is if you can find tickets. There has, unfortunately, been no mention of how you may gain entrance to this party, but it shouldn’t be an exclusive, industry-only party. Follow House of Vans by scanning this QR code and stay updated about any developments:

They will be supported by the talents of LA electro-funk duo Tuxedo and locals J-Fever and Soulspeak.

The most we've heard are these instructions that we came across via WeChat today:

However, we have also since heard that it may already be "sold" out. Give it a shot!
