China Drifting Festival: Experience Live Orchestral Techno with Brandt Brauer Frick, Nov 27

No China Drifting Festival isn’t an awkward tribute to the defensive driving maneuver featured in the Fast and Furious films, it is rather a touring exhibition of wild music presenting quality acts from China and Europe. This annual event, organized by Miro China, was initiated as a platform for cultural exchange and to introduce and promote some of the many interesting artists creating groundbreaking work in China abroad.

For this edition, set for tomorrow (Nov 27) at Yugong Yishan, they have brought over Brandt Brauer Frick (Berlin), a live techno act in the truest sense. This talented group of classically trained musicians bypasses current trends in technology to make techno using acoustic instruments in lieu of computers and synthesizers. Their rousing tracks are rhythmically focused and rendered with the mechanical precision of four-on-the floor club stompers.

Brandt Brauer Frick will be collaborating with Huzi from the band Pet Conspiracy and Re-TROS, both of whom are heavy hitters in the Chinese independent music scene, and for years have been bringing an eclectic mix of rock and electro to China's music loving public. An interesting combination of sounds  will undoubtedly rise from these three undeniably different groups of musicians.

This musical soirée will be topped off by solo performances by not only Huzi and Re-TROS, but also the Swiss band None of Them. You can also expect a side of stunningly futuristic visuals by 8GG.com. Tickets are available through yoopay.cn.
