ChinaBang Awards to Honor Top Tech Innovators

As the New Year heralds yet another awards season, one batch of trophies is clearly more futuristic and cutting edge than all the rest. Dubbed the ChinaBang Awards, this fifth annual ceremony will honor the Middle Kingdom’s best tech innovators.

The awards consist of 20 categories and are coordinated by TechNode, a prominent outlet covering IT news and developments across China.

And while Beijing has long been dominant in these awards, the capital's tech community may be in for some challenges this year as other serious contenders enter the fray. “Many second-tier cities, like Chengdu, have seen a surge of growth in the startup space and are no less innovative than their first tier counterparts," ChinaBang said in a statement.

That growing tech savvys in other locales has prompted ChinaBang to move the awards in Chengdu this year, in order to be closer to that fresh action.

An even more forward-thinking change for the awards comes courtesy of its “Female Founder of the Year” trophy, which coordinators are using “to embrace the growing number of influential women in the startup ecosystem, not only entrepreneurs but investors.”

Firms hoping to enter the fray and flex their tech muscles can apply to have their company nominated by clicking here.

The ChinaBang Awards will be held in Chengdu March 30-31.
