Beijing's Best New Warm Boozy Drinks This Fall

There's a chill in the air, and the time for sitting outside is almost no more. That is, unless you can delay the inevitable move inside by sitting outside with a hot drink! Thankfully our favorite Beijing bar masterminds have got some new drinks to keep us on our toes.

Bar 4 Nine – Chinese mulled wine cocktail (RMB 75)
Huangjiu (traditional Chinese yellow wine), housemade shrub, cinnamon, cloves, star-anise, orange peel, Chinese persimmon vinegar, sugar, and mandarin rind bitters combine to create Bar 4 Nine's own version of mulled wine.

The Brick – Sichuan hot beer (RMB 45)
This hot drink is made using a special secret recipe with local ingredients, but won't leave you feeling cold this summer. You'll just have to try it to get what the hype is all about.

Cheers – (Gulou, Saniltun, Shuangjing, Fenghuang Hui, Topwin Center locations), gluh wine (RMB 30)
Brought in especially for Maovember, Cheers is offering their gluh wine at RMB 30 (RMB 27 for VIP members) per cup at the above locations, with 100 percent of the sales going towards the cause. We can drink to that!

Cuju/Caravan – Hot tropics (RMB 90, teapot to share; RMB 45 per glass)
A delightful warm mix of buttered pineapple juice, ginger, honey, healthy goji berries, and, of course, spiced rum. It might be cold and grey outside, but inside your body it's aloha!

The Local – Hot buttered rum (RMB 50)
Warm up this winter with this delicious hot buttered rum garnished with a cinnamon stick and powdered cinnamon.

Más – Blantino blend (RMB 60)
Fresh roasted coffee infused bourbon, grand marnier, pure chocolate, and angostura bitters are sure to keep you warm this fall and winter. Served as a coffee alongside a lotus biscuit.

Modernista – Apple cider toddy (RMB 65)
A hot toddy based on apple liquor, wheat beer, apple juice, and Modernista's own spice mix. It is hearty, but relatively light in alcohol content.

Palms LA Kitchen and Bar – Garden Party (RMB 55)
An infusion of cranberry, strawberry, peach, and chamomile pair with the complex notes of a craft American rye whiskey and organic Bulgarian rose honey. The fruit and herbal notes hide the punch that this eminently sippable warm drink is packing.
