Feeling Hot Hot Hot!: Channel Your Inner Spice at This Year's Hot & Spicy Karaoke Competition
Entries are rolling in thick and fast for our annual Hot Chili Eating Contest at this year's Hot & Spicy Festival, Apr 20-21 at Galaxy Soho. Now we need to fill spots for a more palatable, less tear-inducing (well, perhaps) portion of the weekend *cue trumpets*: our Hottest Song Karaoke Competition.
At 6pm on both days of the festival, eight aspiring Lady Gagas/Bruno Marses will take to the stage in front of thousands of fans to sing, dance, and generally perform their hearts out. The crowd of hopped-up spiceheads will decide the fate of each of the singers at the end of each of the three rounds courtesy of an on-site decibel reader. The person who receives the loudest cacophony of support will move on the next round, and hopefully win!
Each winner will get two-day passes to the 2019 Great Wall Festival, a 30-hour techno bonanza over the May 18-19 weekend.
Let's break it down:
- The Hottest Song Karaoke Competition will take place at 6pm on Saturday and Sunday, Apr 20-21;
- Each competition will include eight contestants and three rounds;
- Contestants will choose three songs to perform, one for each round;
- After each round, we will turn to the audience who they believe should move on to the next round via our decibel reader
- The winner at the end of each day will receive passes to this year's Great Wall Festival.
If you think you have the lungs (and the fans) to win this year's Hottest Song Karaoke Competition, please send your name, nationality, WeChat ID, and which date you'd like to enter (Saturday or Sunday) to marketing@truerun.com. Each successful entrant will also receive five free tickets to gift their handpicked cheerleading squad. Deadline for entry is midnight on Wednesday, Apr 17.
