EAT: Your bite-sized guide to the best eats to be had in Beijing this week.

Nov 4: Wine pairing dinner at Cravings Longfusi

Head to Cravings in Longfusi for a casual dinner pairing, featuring Yunnan dishes with wines from around the world, supplied by CWS. Pairings include grilled tilapia with aromatic spices with Nuala Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand, and Lijiang-style cured pork rib hot pot with Salomon Estate Baan Shiraz from Southern Australia. The dinner is priced at RMB 298 per person — scan the QR code on the poster in the event listing to RSVP.

Wednesday burger deals at Peach

Wednesday is better with burgers at new healthy fast-casual dining spot Peach by Hulu in Shunyi. All of their flavored burgers are on offer for just RMB 28 all-day Wednesday, including the double tru-ble with arugula, tomato, and truffle sauce, the classic OMG! beef burger, and the B-C-B, with a pork patty, romaine lettuce, bacon, cabbage, carrot, and mustard. All burgers are available to dine in or take away.

New Spanish winter dishes at Carmen

Long a stalwart of the Nali Patio dining scene, Spanish restaurant Carmen has just launched a series of new winter dishes. The hearty dishes are based around pulses and legumes and rich cuts of meat, designed to keep you warm as the weather gets cooler. Sample dishes such as the pork-filled lentils with vegetables, pork ribs, ham, bacon, chorizo, and black pudding, or white beans with homemade pork sausage and mushrooms. If you're not put off by offal, the chanfaina salmantina (rice with lamb's feet and tripe) sounds like the kind of rice dish you don't see every day at Spanish restaurants in Beijing.

Daily dining deals at De Refter

De Refter has a bunch of new buy-one-get-one-free deals to tempt you out for dinner on weekdays. Start your week with burgers on Monday, followed by sandwiches on Wednesday and shou zhua bing (a type of crispy Chinese pancake) on Thursday. Should go well with their Monday to Thursday happy hour, from 3-7pm (draught beers RMB 35, wines and bubbles RMB 40, house cocktails RMB 40).
