Mediterranean chef's table at Migas Mercado + roasted suckling pig

Fancy something different from the usual turkey for your holiday meal this year? Migas Mercado is offering a taste of the Mediterranean with their Spanish suckling pig, available in two styles. Choose from classic "cochinillo" roasted suckling pig (RMB 1,200 for 6-10 people), served with baby potatoes and roasted vegetables, or porchetta (RMB 1,800 for 8-15 people) stuffed with either pork belly, black sausage, and boiled egg or Iberico pork, monkfish, prawns, and boiled egg. Add WeChat ID: migasbj and message "Suckling Pig" to get a voucher for 20 percent off.

Also in December, Migas Mercado's executive chef Miguel Zapata will be teaming up with guest chef Jarrod Verbiak for a dinner series entitled "Across the Mediterranean". Each menu will explore a different Mediterranean coast — from the north coast (Spain, Italy, and France) to the east coast (Greece and the Balkans) and finally the south coast (Egypt, Morocco, and beyond) — starting with the north coast on Dec 2. The multi-course menu, priced at RMB 688, includes dishes like tuna escabeche, Provençal pissaladiere (onion tart with olives and anchovies), and Sardinian braised couscous with seafood. Call 6500 7579 to reserve your spot.

Three places to enjoy cheese fondue this winter

Nothing says "winter warmer" like a bubbling pot of cheese fondue. Luckily, there are at least three places in Beijing to enjoy cheese fondue right now.

Bistro 108 is holding cheese night every Wednesday, featuring fondue for RMB 168 per person (minimum two people), including 250g of cheese, plus cold cuts, bread, potatoes, and pickles.

At Zarah, they're celebrating the return of their fondue with a "Fondue Craze" buffet on Fri, Nov 26, featuring an all-you-can-eat feast of fondue accoutrements for RMB 228 (fondue dip-ins are free-flow, but you'll need to add RMB 98 for an extra serving of cheese). After Fri, Nov 26, their fondue is available every night from 6pm onwards for RMB 298 for two (without the buffet).

Finally, Annie's has fondue available at all branches around the city for just RMB 139.
