Upper Crust: La Pizza Opens in Sanlitun

The original La Pizza in Solana was sold on the authenticity of Chef Giuseppe, a Neapolitan of timeless stereotypical appeal – traditional toque hat, thick black moustache and a belly like a Chinese province.

In the new location at 3.3 Mall, he galumphs between tables, chatting with customers like they’re old friends. Call me anti-social but I would rather see him oven-side, supervising my “Diavola” pizza (RMB 78), which arrived bathed in enough oil to melt a glacier.

The carbonara (RMB 60) was nice enough, and the only complaint about our rocket salad (RMB 45) was a shortage of cheese. The location can’t be faulted, and though the interior is a tad utilitarian, the tall windows soak up all the lunchtime sun.

Can someone actually explain why this place is always so busy and packed with punters,I have been there twice now and ordered salads and piza and the food quality has been absolute shite.
The pizza was so wet we could'nt even pick it off the plate, and the salad had more oil on it than the exxon valdiz.
I would rather starve,I have served better and more edible food to my dog:)

Does this really look like the face of concern?
