Burger Off: The Beijinger Burger Cup 2012 Kicks Off

And so it begins. Sixty-four of the best burger joints in the city are going head-to-head in this year's installment of the Beijinger Burger Cup. Last year, Blue Frog walked away with the prize (no doubt helped by their Burger Burger Mondays promotion). The Frog, as we like to call them, fended off stiff competition from Fatburger to take the meaty crown, but who will do so this year?

You will decide. It's a public vote and the first round is live right now. We'll be offering prizes to you readers as the competition goes on, starting with the second round – which will when we debut this year's downloadable bracket.

Speaking of the bracket, we seeded venues based on a preliminary vote from 100 burger-lovers so that the strongest contenders don't eliminate one another in early rounds. Read on to cast your vote!

The first round of voting will be open until November 28 ... so get busy and pick your favorite burgers!

Not really a bad burger in the bunch ... tough call on all of those burgers, will be a shame to see some of them fall in the first round, but fall they must as only 4 of the above 8 will go on
