Actors Hugh Jackman, Peter Dinklage FEAST at Indigo after 'X-Men' Premiere

What do you do for an encore if you're a huge Hollywood star and your new blockbuster just premiered in Beijing? Eat some Pavlova, at least that's what Hugh Jackman and Peter Dinklage did after X-Men: Days of Future Past bowed at Indigo Tuesday night.

"Hugh Jackman just loved his Pavlova at FEAST," said Rob Cunningham, food and beverage director at EAST Beijing, of photos posted on his WeChat account. "What a great guy, so nice. Good actor as well," he added. Jackman sports an adhesive bandage on his face in the photo, a reminder of a recent procedure to remove a basal-cell carcinoma, a form of skin cancer.

Jackman wasn't the only one who got his just desserts. "Peter Dinklage just ate his first ever Pavlova at FEAST. He loved it. Super nice guy and what a great actor."

Dinklage stars in X-Men but may be better known for his leading role in the HBO series Game of Thrones. "Just at the X-Men premiere in Beijing. But all I could think of was ... Game of Thrones baby!!!" Beijing-based film director Dayyan Eng said on his Facebook page.

X-Men: Days of Future Past opens in Beijing cinemas May 23. Along with Jackman and Dinklage, the fourth installment of X-Men features China's most powerful actress, Fan Bingbing, as Blink, making her first appearance in the series. Fan also had a small role in Iron Man 3.

Seems like a Pavlova gauntlet has been thrown down in Beijing by Cunningham, originally from Australia, serving the famous dessert to his fellow Australian Jackman. However, it has been the signature dessert of Capital M, owned by Australian Michelle Garnault, and helped the Qianmen restaurant win Best Desserts in our 2013 Beijinger Reader Restaurant Awards (the category was not included in 2014). Both restaurants took home Outstanding Awards in one or more categories at the 2014 Beijinger Reader Restaurant Awards.

Pavlova is named for Russian ballerina Anna Pavlova as she toured Australian and New Zealand, It is believed that the dessert, usually made with meringue and fruit, was first made in New Zealand before being exported to its neighbor.
