First Glance: Un Livre Cafe

Open for less than two weeks, we predict this French-inspired cafe space will be a boon for office workers and CBD-dwellers alike. Set in a quiet corner on the first floor of World City tower C, it makes a welcome change from the other, more clamorous venues in the area. On the day we visited, the French-theme was complimented by the sultry strains of local Beijing gypsy jazz band Mademoiselle et son Orchestre

Aside from the usual espresso-based drinks (e.g. RMB 27 for an Americano) they offer a limited menu of sweets and main courses. The mini pastries we tried were delicious (RMB 12) and we here good things from Dianping about the pastas (their chef used to work at the Conrad).
