Beijing Foodporn Part 1: All I Want for Breakfast is Dessert

If you’ve already fallen off that New Year’s resolution wagon – why not go all out and sample Beijing’s best sweets? We won't judge you if you choose your dinner (or breakfast or lunch) venue based solely on their dessert menu, we do it all the time.

Morton’s: White Chocolate Bread Putting (RMB 125, pictured above)
Made with white chocolate chips and pecans, served with bourbon caramel sauce, topped off with vanilla ice cream and white chocolate confetti.

Kenny’s Burgers: Panna Cotta (RMB 68)
A huge portion of this delicious, creamy dessert topped off with berries. Don't worry if you prefer tiramisu as Kenny makes a wonderful tiramisu, too.

TRB: Melting Chocolate Pie (part of set)
One of the winners of the Beijinger 2015 Restaurant Awards for best desserts, TRB has some great after-dinner (or brunch or lunch) offerings. One of our favorites, if we have to choose, is the delicious melting chocolate pie made with poached pear, pear sorbet, and chocolate sauce.

Waldorf Astoria Beijing: Red Velvet Cake (230/pound, RMB 88 per slice)
Another winner in the best desserts category of the Beijinger 2015 Restaurant Awards, the Waldorf Astoria Beijing's Red Velvet Cake uses cranberry juice instead of beetroot juice as one of its key ingredients.

Awfully Chocolate: Super-Stacked Chocolate Cake (RMB 27)
Awfully Chocolate is the answer to your cacao dreams: try a slice of the super-stacked chocolate cake.

Dunkin’ Donuts
And of course, if you can’t really afford to eat out, you should get yourself to the recently-opened Dunkin’ Donuts in Tiantongyuan.

Stick around for more desserts coming up soon.

I was talking to my 8-year-old daughter as we were making some cupcakes the other day, and i kept on calling them muffins. My daughter would correct me, but i explained,  "if you have it for dessert, it's a cupcake ... but if you have it for breakfast it's a muffin." Smile
