EAT: Random Bites From Around Town Featuring Miss Muesli, TRB, Hatsune, and More

A mixed bag of dining news this week, with bits and pieces from all over town.

Firstly, we hear that a new branch of Wagas has opened in Fulicheng (aka Viva Plaza) in Shuangjing -- should be a boon for south-siders craving salads. The Sanlitun location remains closed, however, with a projected re-opening date around Spring Festival.

What with the sub-zero temps we've been experiencing this week, we're very much on a warm breakfast trip right now. Lucky for us, then, that Miss Muesli have created a berry-flavored oatmeal for their newest mix. The Berry Queen Oatmeal (promo price RMB 32/400g, regular price RMB 45/400g) features quick oats, blueberries, cranberries, strawberries, chia seeds, linseeds, and vanilla. Simply heat with water or milk and enjoy.

Over at Hatsune, they've also been ringing in the changes with their latest limited edition dish. The beef tongue sizzling rice bowl features braised beef tongue topped with spring onions and nori on a bed of rice, all served in a hot stone pot. The server will pour over some umami-rich yakiniku sauce before you stir it all together. Hurry though, you've only got until the end of January to try it.

Speaking of steak, now might be a good time to try new Nali Patio restaurant Particles Kitchen, as they are offering 20 percent off all food until Janaury 24. That includes Australia steak, cooked sous-vide style.

Finally, for another great deal, TRB and TRB Bites are offering 20 percent off dinner and 16 percent off lunch for the whole of January and February (excluding February 13-14). Simply quote "2016" when paying the bill (offer only applicable to food).
