This Week in Health and Fitness: Living Bigg Launch New Gym Base Fit, Work for Glo

This Week in Health and Fitness brings you the best fitness and health goings on around town so you can live your #bestlife.

One week into January. How's everyone doing with those resolutions, huh? If you're anything like me, this stubborn pollution certainly won't be helping you get out and about. Nevertheless, there's plenty of healthy happenings going to motivate you to stay on that wagon.

The biggest news in health and fitness this week is that Living Bigg has launched a new gym project called Base Fit. Located on Xingfu'ercun behind the Bentley and Rolls Royce dealerships, they describe Base Fit as "Beijing's first fitness center to focus on all aspects of physical health." Their workouts, whether functional training, body building, bodyweight training, yoga or otherwise, are designed to be accessible to all, regardless of fitness level. I was a big fan of Living Bigg's group classes (particularly their female-oriented "curves" class) so I'm glad to see them taking things to new heights with Base Fit. FYI, group classes include the aforementioned curves class, muscle and strength, cardio conditioning, pre- and post-natal training, box fit, and yoga.

Check them out during their soft opening phase for special offers on group class passes and personal training sessions. For example, a pack of 10 group classes (no expiry) is just RMB 999 (usually RMB 1,900), an annual group class pass is RMB 6,500 (usually RMB 13,500), and a block of 10 sessions with a professional personal trainer is RMB 4,800 (previously RMB 6,000).

Existing Living Bigg members needn't worry: you can use your membership at both Base Fit and Living Bigg, and vice versa. However, if you purchase a Living Bigg membership after January 2, you will only be able to use it at the original Living Bigg location (which now only offers Boxing and Muay Thai classes). Follow Base Fit on WeChat at BaseFitChina for more information or email info@basefit.cn.

Do you love the gym so much that you wish you could be there all the time? Then why not work there? Glo Kitchen and Fitness are currently looking for a marketing intern, CrossFit coach intern, membership consultant, graphic designer/branding consultant, and barista/cashier, to work across their two locations at Guanghua Lu Soho and Wanda Plaza. If you choose to work for Glo, you'll enjoy benefits such as staff meals, free CrossFit and TRX classes, and plenty of opportunities to work on new projects. The benefits aren't limited to successful candidates, however, if you happen to refer someone who ends up taking a job, then you'll receive a free three-month membership at Glo worth RMB 4,200. Email shirley@gloforit.com for more information or to submit your resume.

I'm surprised This Week in Health and Fitness hasn't yet said anything about the new 'Kung Fu Boutique' that opened, selling genuine Feiyue shoes. I would have thought good quality sports shoes always help with living your #bestlife. Smile
