Fireworks Frenzy: Where to Buy Fireworks, and When to Blow Them Up

In what seems to be an attempt to gradually squeeze the two weeks of madness that ensue every Spring Festival, this year, fireworks will only be on sale between February 3 and February 12, giving every pyromaniac under the dulled Beijing sun a total of 10 days to get their gunpowder-infused fill, according to iFeng. This change, from 11 days last year, was made in hopes of increasing safety in our fair city and hopefully means fewer fireworks, less noise, and reduced air pollution as a result.

You'll be allowed to set off fireworks from 7am-midnight from February 7 until February 22. Setting them off outside these times will result in a fine.

There are also fewer shops around, selling less fireworks. Some confirmed locations that are selling fireworks are as follows:

Chaoyang District
Crossing of Xindong Lu and Xingfu'er Cun, Sanlitun

Fangshan District
70 Kaixuan Dajie

Huapao888 has a good collection of fireworks, but you'll have to speak Chinese to call and order (or ask a friend who does).
